Conference Workshop: “How To Read Your Work Out Loud” by Eve Brackenbury
Conference Open Mic

Everyone knows poetry, with its distinct sounds and rhythms, is meant to be read aloud. But what if you’ve never spoken in front of a crowd? Eve Brackenbury, poet and bookseller, will lead participants in learning to read poetry out loud.

Eve’s public readings always grab the audience and inspire tears and laughter. She often writes of history, be it recorded or personal. She gives her readers and listeners something remembered and something familiar. She’ll share what she’s learned from her background in drama and music: that her audience is the most important element of her poetry.

The Conference schedule is currently being planned. Look for Conference Schedule updates at this link: https://www.jocolibrary.org/events/writers-conference

Guests are welcome, and I am willing to host a second group if enough poets are wanting to attend. We bring 1-3 poems to be critiqued by our peer group. We discuss poetry forms. We actively see submission and publication. We attend poetry functions as a group.
